Here's something you may not know about me: a have the BIGGEST trouble sleeping!!
I'm a crazy insomiac! It's sooo hard for me to fall alseep, unless I'm 200% exhausted. It has always been like that, since I can remember.
Hopefelly you won't have the same issue as me!
Yet, I know that when any average person, with average sleeping habits, gets stressed, anxious or has the entire notion that needs to sleep for a specific reason... just CAN'T!
Everyone has times when sleeping comes hard! And, because I go trough that A LOT, I thought I'd give you some tips and tricks that I've picked up.
Not all of them work on me all the time, but most really help!
Depending on who you are and what your issue is, some will work and some won't. But the only way you know is trying!
Oh and btw, just to clear anything up, I'm no doctor or anthing! These are just some tricks I picked up over the years and that work or have worked for me at some point!
Ok, so here's my Sleeping Tips List:
1. Ditch the TV and the computer, read a book instead!

Yeah yeah, I know! Trust me, that's even hard for me! I love reading, yet I always have computer work to do (like writing on this blog... haha!), so it's really hard to take 30mins out of the time that I could be getting work done to go lay in bed and read! But, besides actually enjoying it, it helps a lot with insomia.
Your brain slows down and your eyes get a bit tired from the effort of reading (wich you can't say about TV, which actually stimulates your mind!). This helps with telling your body that it is time to zzzzzzzzzzz...
Try something inspiring and that lifts you spirit up up up! It'll relax you even more!
2. Love the Darkness

It can be hard not to leave just a liiiittle of light on, I know! You might need to make a small trip to the WC or something, and you don't want to trip over anything!! But if that's the case, then try a sleeping mask!
When it's dark, your body simply assumes that it's time to rest!
3. Don't count the hours you still have to sleep

It stressed the crap out of you!! Trust me, I'd know.
I know the will to keep checking the clook and figuring out how many hours of sleep you can still have if you fall asleep at that moment WILL NOT make you fall asleep at that moment, which is what you want!
Focus on sleeping, rather then when you are going to wake up!
4. Make a to-do list before bed

Instead of being stessed out all night thinking about all you have to do the next day, and worrying about if you'll forget any of them, try and creat the habit to make a To-Do list every night before bed.
It helps you to chill, because it let's you be sure that you have all you need planned out for the next day and that you won't forget anything!
5. No napping!! At least, not for long...

If you reeeeally can't go without a nap, then leave it to 10-20mins max! And try and make it before 3pm.
If not, sleeping will me much harder!
6. Tea Time!!

Camomile tea is the perfect choice!
There are some sleep time teas, but those are honestly just a name and they are more expensive for no reason!
I recommend getting leafy tea, because it is way richer.
(don't drink tooo much tho... having to get out of bed to make a visit to the WC is no fun!)
7. Make it cozy!

Make sure your sleeping space is as cozy as you can get it to be!
Soft sheets, pillows... even add some stuffed animals! I sleep with a couple... shhhh!!
Whatever it takes to make you feel as if you were laying in the clowds!
8. Use your imagination!

Forget all the stress and things that make you anxious! Use your creative mind and imagine calming scenes, filled with positive vibes. It'll help you doze off into sleep, and it'll help you have nice dream at night!
And it will also help you wake up in a better mood!!
9. Make it bubble bath time!

Take a relaxing bubble bath before bed.
Use oils or bubble bars or somthings of that kind with relaxing scents, like lavender, pine or jasmine.
Just make sure you're not still digesting dinner! You want to relax and go to bed, not end up at a hospital!!!
10. Turn Up (actually, down) the MUSIC!!

No, I don't mean for you to blast some rock music in bed!
What I suggest (and this is, by far, the best trick for me) is for you to plug in at least one earphone and listen to calming music at the lowest volume possible.
It relaxes you, and it makes you focus on something soothing.
This is what works better for me, along with reading and warm tea!
Well guys, that was it for today's post!
