Wake Up With Energy!

Hey everyone!

So, a while back I made a Sleep Time post, filled with tips and tricks to help you guys fall asleep easier!

Today, I'm doing a post about what comes next: Waking Up!!

Now, I'll be 100% honest with you: I am NOT a morning person! I'm just not!

I love staying up late, and waking up late! That's just me... Call me an owl or a bat if you will!!

I'm a night person, and I honestly don't mind.

But everyone else seems to!

I hear so much because of it! Yes, I know "regular" people start their days earlier, work starts at 8am or so, and that is just the way it should be... But that's just not my way! And I know I'm not alone on this!

I think it's a creative people thing... I'm not saying "morning people" aren't creative, it's just I've met many creative friends who are just like me! And I am the most creative latter at night (it's 2am right now...), that's a fact!

But yeah, the truth is, the rest of the world starts early!

And, because I live in the world, I have to make an effort and try to do the same, at least when it's necessary!

So, from a non-morning person to another, here are the tips I found that (hopefully) will help us wake up full of energy!

Food!

This is my #1 tip!

Make plans to have a yummy, healthy and energetic breakfast next morning. What makes someone more exited than food?? Not much!

If I know I'm going to have an amazing breakfast, I'll instantly feel more exited to get up! A good idea is to set up the things you'll need in the kitchen the night before (per example, if you're doing pancakes, you can set out the flour, sugar, pan, etc). And, if you're lucky enought to have a coffee machine with a timer, set it so when you wake up you can feel the smell of warm coffee that has just been made!

Who wouldn't get up for that?!?

Alarm Is Key

Your alarm clock is very important!

Make sure it is loud enough for you to hear it and wake up with it, but not too loud or it'll just annoy you, because it's too violent. And you'll wake up everyone around you...

A good tip is to put your alarm clock far from your bed. Like that, you're forced to get up to turn it off. And now going back to bed after, that's cheating!

If you're scared to do that because of waking up whoever else lives in the house, set one alarm next to you, and then another way farther away about 5mins after. You'll be awake enough from the 1st one to be fast to shut the 2nd one off, and the rest of the people can just keep sleeping!

If you use your phone, set a song you're currently loving as your alarm tune. It'll leave you in a much better mood right away!

Keep It Warm

This one is really big for me!

I'm pretty much always cold. But nothing compares to mornings! Even in Summer, when I wake up I feel cold! And in Winter well... don't even!

This happens because you're body is used to the temperature of your bed, which is usually hotter than the surrounding environment.

So, my recommendation is that you have a warm robe, or cardigan, or something along those lines next to your bed, or at the end of it.

Lots of times we don't get outta bed because we think the outside is too cold, and we just end up falling back asleep. So this is a good soluction!

Shower Time

Take a shower right after you get out of bed. Not too warm, not too cold.

The water will wake you up right away and make your body aware that it is time to get going!

If you don't have time, at least splash your face with cold water a good couple of times. It really helps!

Let The Light In

Leave half of your courtains open before you go to sleep. Orm if you have a set of thicker ones and then a set of thinner ones over it, leave only the second pair.

The light will tell your body that it's time to wake up, and it'll make it easier for you to not fall back asleep!

Get Exited For Your Day

I'm a "to-do list" freak! I make them for everything! To be honest, I make lists for everything...

So,before you sleep, make a to-do list of your next day. Make sure to point out all the things (little or small) that will be fun for you in that day. Make yourself exited for what's to come! Even if the best thing you'll do tomorrow is watching an episode of your favorite series or calling a friend, list it out!

After you heard your alarm, grab your list and read trough it. You're bound to want to get up and get started on the day, just so you can get to the fun parts of it!
